The Craig Story
Craig’s Fine Jewelry opened its doors in 1950 and is one of the oldest businesses on historic Main Street, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Founder, Helen Craig, never imagined that her small family business would be what it is today – but the next generation owners: son, Norman Craig, and his wife, Elsie, began to grow the business by offering only the finest quality jewelry and impeccable service, and by establishing a commitment to Ridgefield and its people. In 1983, Norman and Elsie left the business to their three children, and in 2004, their only son, Bill Craig, became the sole owner of Craig’s – now one of the most established businesses in town.
Through the years, Bill has continued to build upon his family’s legacy by keeping Craig’s an integral part of Ridgefield but has also created a nationally recognized, independent jewelry store.
Today, with our selection of highly-regarded designers and established reputation for excellence, Craig’s Fine Jewelry ranks among the top one-percent of jewelry retailers in the country. In 2013, we were honored to receive the Centurion Jewelry Show’s inaugural Retailer of the Year award, creating the benchmark for all that succeeded us.
However, the spirit of a small town shopping experience is very much alive at Craig’s. You can feel it in the elegance and intimacy of our historic location, through the warmth of our devoted staff and in our philanthropic efforts to build a vibrant and healthy community.
